Larry Long is the former Senior Vice President, Operations, Potash at Nutrien, the world’s largest provider of crop inputs and services. Long has over 35 years of experience in the mining industry starting as a field geologist with Noranda in Bathurst, New Brunswick in 1988. Some of his experience includes working as Chief Geologist and Production Coordinator for Breakwater Resources in Nunavut. Long was also Superintendent of Open Pit Operations for BHP Billiton’s Ekati Diamond mine in the Northwest Territories. And was General Manager for the Rocanville and Allan mines with Potash Corp. in Saskatchewan.
Passionate about community, Long has been involved in a variety of volunteer organizations supporting health care, recently serving on the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation board, as well as sitting on several industry related boards including the Saskatchewan Mining Association.
